About The Writer

Maraya Hardrick is a Detroit-born screenwriter, television writer, U.S. Army veteran, and graduate of The Los Angeles Film School, where she was inducted into the Honor Society of Entertainment Arts in recognition of her academic excellence and dedication to storytelling.

Drawing from a life shaped by military service, leadership, adversity, and resilience, Maraya writes emotionally grounded, character-driven dramas, thrillers, psychological stories, crime narratives, and horror that explore identity, family, trauma, healing, justice, redemption, and the extraordinary strength people discover in their darkest moments. Her work blends emotional authenticity with suspense, creating layered characters whose journeys linger long after the credits roll.

Before pursuing writing full-time, Maraya spent years serving in the U.S. Army and leading teams in demanding, high-performance environments. Those experiences instilled discipline, adaptability, and an understanding of human behavior that continue to influence the complex relationships and moral conflicts within her stories.

In addition to screenwriting, Maraya has worked as a ghostwriter and copywriter, developing the ability to write across multiple voices, formats, and audiences. Whether crafting feature scripts, television pilots, branded content, or long-form narratives, she believes every story should connect emotionally while remaining authentic to its characters.

A lifelong lover of literature and the arts, Maraya credits much of her creative foundation to her grandmother, who nurtured her imagination from an early age by surrounding her with books and encouraging her writing. Reading The Diary of Anne Frank as a teenager profoundly shaped her understanding of storytelling’s ability to preserve hope, amplify forgotten voices, and inspire generations. That experience solidified her belief that stories possess the power to transform lives.

Friendship and chosen family remain central themes throughout Maraya’s work. Having experienced firsthand the profound impact of unwavering support and genuine human connection, she is passionate about telling stories that remind audiences they are never truly alone. She believes the strongest narratives challenge assumptions, inspire empathy, and invite meaningful conversations long after the screen fades to black.

At the heart of Maraya’s storytelling is a simple mission: to create stories that make people feel seen, encourage resilience, and remind audiences that even after unimaginable hardship, hope, healing, and purpose remain possible.
