Conflict

A constant battle—hearts and minds collide,

Chasing one goal, but on paths that divide.

Choices grow heavy, no room to barter,

A tug-of-war, head and heart grow sharper.

Heart whispers “yes,” while mind shouts “no,”

Mind screams “stop!” as heart blindly goes.

The mind, a prophet, saw it from afar,

Knew a spark would ignite into a blazing star.

Yet heart—oh heart—so full of grace,

Saw only beauty etched in your face.

Heart held your past, your demons, your pain,

Loved every shadow, every stain.

Heart loved you boldly, no safety net,

Unconscious, unapologetic, with no regret.

From the soles of your feet to the crown of your head,

Heart loved you fiercely, where angels feared to tread.

It risked its life for just one embrace,

Yearning to bask in love’s sweet space.

But all it wanted, in the depths it dove,

Was simple: to love and to be loved.
